Introduction to Synchronous Rectification Technology:
Synchronous rectification is a new technology that uses dedicated power MOSFETs with extremely low on state resistance to replace rectifier diodes and reduce rectification losses. It can greatly improve the efficiency of DC/DC converters and there is no dead zone voltage caused by barrier voltage. Power MOSFETs belong to voltage controlled devices, and their volt ampere characteristics exhibit a linear relationship during conduction. When using power MOSFETs as rectifiers, it is required that the gate voltage must be synchronized with the phase of the rectified voltage in order to complete the rectification function, hence it is called synchronous rectification. Synchronous rectification technology greatly reduces the rectification loss at the output end of switch mode power supplies, thereby improving conversion efficiency and reducing the heating of the power supply itself.
